History of Symbolism
I began an interest in Symbolism when I was introduced to the restoration and creation of church windows in Stained Glass.
One of my favorite Symbolist artists is John William Waterhouse.

Indian Hills Community College, Ottumwa, IA began a series of prints from established Southern Iowa area artists to help with fundraising for it's scholarship program.
I'm pleased to say I was asked to create one of the works for this project. You may view it at this site and find out more information about other prints that are available.

Mary Beth has been a mentor for me when it comes to my art career. She first inspired me to create more then one painting a year. At the time we met, I never introduced myself to others as an artist, it was "just something I can do". I give thanks to this hard working woman for her sharing of her talents and wisdom at being an artist.

I met Karen at the 2007 Des Moines Two Rivers Art Expo and fell in love with her bold colorful paintings. She has a fresh and joyous style and her personality is definitely reflected in her work.
Karen's work inspires me to think about simplicity when approaching a painting.

Nik Sorak is an accomplished musician that rights his own music. His latest CD can be heard on his myspace site. I like listening to his work while I'm painting.
I am honored to say I'm his Mother.
