About the Artist
Gin Lammert

BIO
Gin Lammert is best known for her incredible ability to capture the likeness and essence of individuals and animals in her portrait work.  She expands the same energy when painting any subject, be it a landscape, portrait or still life and because of this, her work has been labeled "Treasures from the Heart" by both private and corporate collectors.   Her artwork is part of collections through out the United States, England, Europe, and Japan.

The artist's signature has changed three times during her career, marking distinct growth periods of work.  There are a few rare pieces signed in her madden name of South, followed by a body of work that spans 25 years as Ginny Sorak, and now since 2001 as Gin Lammert.    She currently resides in the small community of Pulaski in southern Iowa  with her husband Keith and their cat Wabbles.

Gin's work has also evolved from precision pencil drawings to a more impressionistic style of painting using strokes of color to create oil or soft pastel paintings.   Spanning 4 decades,  she has participated in and won numerous awards at juried fine art shows in the Midwest United States.   One person exhibits, group shows, and fundraisers for charitable causes are other places her work can be found.

Gin was introduced to the world of glass in 1998.   She immediatly took to glass painting during her apprenticeship at Bovard's Studio in Fairfield, IA.  With relocating to Southern Iowa, the opportunity to continue her love of painting on glass and creating designs has been fullfilled by doing work for nationally acclaimed Hershey Stained Glass Studio of Milton, IA.  Church windows, new and restoration of old, is the primary work this studio does. You may view their work at www.hersheystudio.com.     The image seen on Hershey Studio's home page is that of an Angel reading to two birds.   The design and painting was done by Gin with Kevin Hershey as the glass cutter and builder of  this window. It's size is approx. 72"x36".   Gin is also an expert at re-creating Munich Style windows.  This style is best known as Stained Glass windows of the late 19th and 20th Century.

"I have been blessed with the ability to create what I see and feel in a visual manner, and only grow as an artist by sharing this gift with others.   My hope is the use of this gift touches the viewer with God's abundant Grace that fills their heart and soul with joy and beauty."
 ~Gin Lammert
